Video Production Across Texas & Nationwide

Based in Dallas, filming wherever the project is. We pack the gear, plan the trip and quote the travel up front, so a shoot in West Texas or out of state runs as smoothly as one down the street.

Travel video production

We come to you

The best footage is almost never in our neighborhood. It’s at your plant, your job site, your conference hotel or the field where the oil rigs are. So we go there. Tribal Video is based in East Dallas, and a big part of our work happens somewhere else in Texas or somewhere else in the country.

We’re not here to overcomplicate things. A travel shoot is the same job we do at home, with a little more planning up front: how we get there, what we bring, where we stay and when we set up. You tell us where and when. We handle the rest, and you get a clear quote before anybody buys a plane ticket.

Cameron moved to Dallas in 2014 and built Tribal on relationships with clients all over Texas and the country. Plenty of them came to us through referrals from people we’d already filmed for. Hiring a crew you already trust, even if it has to travel, often beats rolling the dice on a stranger in a new city.

Where we’ve been

Work we’ve shot outside DFW

West Texas oil & gas

Our Oil & Gas Fields 4K reel was filmed in West Texas oil and gas fields, with aerials of the facilities at dusk. Industrial sites are a long way from anywhere, and that’s exactly where the footage is.

San Antonio campaigns

Campaign work for two San Antonio candidates: a TV ad for Marc LaHood for District Attorney and a story-driven TV ad for John Lujan for Texas State Representative. More on political ad production.

A job site in Toronto

A marketing video at an active construction site in Toronto. The client’s review, below, says it better than we can: we got the shots without getting in the way of the work.

Austin real estate

A Class A storage facility video for Karr Self Storage in Austin. You can watch it on our types of videos page.

How a travel shoot works

Pack it. Fly it. Shoot it.

Plan. We start with a call about the video, the audience and the date. Then we scout the location without a second trip: you send photos or a short video of the space, or we walk it together on a video call. We look at light, sound, power and parking, and build the shot list from there.

Travel. A small crew travels: usually Cameron, plus an assistant when the shoot needs a second person. A lot of Texas is a drive. When it isn’t, we fly with the kit Cameron lists in our guide to traveling with camera gear: two camera bodies, an LED light and softbox, stands, travel tripods and a drone, packed into a camera backpack and one big duffel.

Shoot. We get in early, because setup takes about an hour, and we’re ready before your people are. Then we walk everyone through it and keep it relaxed. All you have to do is show up.

Cut. We edit back in Dallas: music, titles, graphics and a couple of rounds of revisions with you until it’s right.

Straight talk on cost

How travel is billed

The shoot costs the same wherever it happens. A full day is $2,000, a half day is$1,500, an assistant is $1,000, and editing is $150 an hour. A 2-minute video typically takes about 6 hours of editing.

Travel is the only thing that changes, and it’s quoted up front as its own line: flights or mileage, checked gear, hotel and a rental car, plus a travel day if the schedule needs one. We price it for your trip rather than tacking on a flat fee, so a drive to Waco and a flight to Denver aren’t billed the same.

Two ways to keep travel costs down: book early, when flights and hotels are cheaper, and stack the work. If you have two locations or two videos in the same region, one trip can cover both. See the full pricing breakdown →

“Amazing experience! We hired the team at Tribal Video to do a professional marketing video project for our construction site in Toronto. Tribal Video made this process incredibly easy on our company, and were an absolute pleasure to work with. From planning, to completion, absolute perfection. You’d think a video shoot at an active job site would be difficult, but not with these guys. They get it, and understand how…”

What we make on the road

Any video we make at home, we make anywhere

Travel doesn’t change the menu. Fly us in for corporate videos filmed at a second office or a plant, event video production for a conference in another city, product videos shot where the product actually gets used, or campaign ads for candidates anywhere in Texas.

If you’re in Dallas–Fort Worth, none of this applies to you: no travel, same rates. We shoot all over the metroplex, including Fort Worth and Tarrant County.

Travel shoot FAQs

Do you travel outside Texas?

Yes. We’re based in Dallas, but the work goes where the story is. We’ve filmed a marketing video at an active construction site in Toronto, and we take projects anywhere in the US. Tell us where and when, and we’ll plan the trip.

How do you charge for travel?

The shoot itself is billed at our normal published rates: $2,000 for a full day, $1,500 for a half day, $1,000 for an assistant and $150 an hour for editing. Travel and lodging (flights, checked gear, hotel, rental car) are quoted up front as their own line, before anything gets booked. If the trip needs a travel day on either side of the shoot, that’s in the quote too, so there are no surprises on the invoice.

Do you bring your own gear or rent it where we are?

We bring our own: cameras, lights, audio and stands, packed to fly. If a project needs something bigger than what travels well, we’ll rent it near you, and that rental shows up in the quote.

Do you need to visit the location before the shoot?

Usually not. We plan remotely: you send photos or a quick video of the space, or we walk it together on a video call. That tells us about light, sound, power and parking, so we can plan the setups without paying for a second trip.

Do you have crews in Austin, Houston or San Antonio?

No. It’s the same Dallas crew everywhere, which means the same people, the same gear and the same rates on every job. Most of Texas is a drive for us, and anything farther is a flight.

How do we review the edit if you’re back in Dallas?

The same way every client does. We edit in Dallas, send you the first cut, and work through a couple of rounds of revisions with your feedback until it’s right. Distance doesn’t change any of that.
